The Future Crisis
Part 1
There was a boy named Charlie Brooks who had an unforgettable experience of time travel. He never expected anything to happen when he got off the bus, but he was mistaken! This is the story of how he saved all of humanity from a devastating future…
Charlie Brooks was a very ordinary boy, he didn’t think anything bad would happen to him and everything would be perfect his whole life. What he didn’t like was that his Dad was an inventor.
One day Charlie was at his Dad’s workshop, he was as bored as ever. Just like normal. He asked his Dad if he could maybe have a look around the building and see if there was anything interesting to do or see. As normal, his Dad said no because apparently there were too many sharp and dangerous objects and inventions lying around. Charlie then begged and pleaded to go home. Eventually after a long time of asking and waiting for an answer, he finally said yes. He gave Charlie some money and told him go straight home.
Charlie dawdled out of the building to the bus stop, he waited for ages. Then out of the corner of his eye he saw his favourite sweet shop. He walked down and went inside. As soon as he opened the door the amazing smell lured him in. He looked down the never ending shelves jam packed with all the sweets you could ever think of. Black striped balls, Alphabet letters, Tom Thumb pips, Army and Navy sweets and Charlie’s favourite- Mint humbugs, which he always thought looked like golden satin cushions. He left the shop with a bag of his favourites and walked back to the bus stop.
After a little while Charlie noticed that he was the only one on the bus. He normally sits beside Mrs Brown, the old lady who lives next door to him. The bus dropped him off at the shop a few streets up from his house. When he was passing it he saw something very peculiar that he had never seen in his lifetime. It was a jet pack with 1 million features. You could tell by the look on Charlie’s face that he wanted it so bad. When he went into the shop and looked at the price it was 1 million pounds because of its 1 million features. Charlie only had about £7.35 because of the bus and his sweets. He really wanted it, so he went up the front desk and rang the bell. He repeatedly rang it over and over again but no one came. He walked out of the shop and dawdled home.
Charlie was passing all the streets leading up to his house. He saw things that he had never seen before like waterparks, shopping malls, swimming pools, golf courses, cinemas, theatres and museums. He was very confused. The only things he recognised were the street names. Charlie walked to his house, or where he thought it was. He was shocked. It was gone…
